A bit of history
Geodesic domes are uniquely beautiful structures. You may have seen one in some variation of its design before. Buckminster Fuller first patented the idea back in 1954, but that iconic dome-shape has been used around the world for millennia to help us survive the elements and create strong homes and communities.
Growing Dome Greenhouses are a progression of that history. Part of Growing Spaces technology, this district variation of the geodesic design has been tested in the far north of Nunavut, as well as in the backyards of many satisfied American customers.
Now fabricated here in Ontario, Arctic Acres is working to bring this iconic design and state-of-the-art technology to Canadians coast to coast and north to south!
Technology
Growing Domes offer many advantages over the conventional box-shape and traditional greenhouses. Made from high-quality materials including eco-friendly 16mm polycarbonate panels, each component of your dome is precisely measured and cut for one of our six sizes. As pretty as they look, the real beauty of these domes is what they can do.
