GROWING DOME
Upgrades and Accessories
Western Red Cedar
Upgrading to Western Red Cedar provides enhanced longevity, beauty, and environmental benefits, making it a
worthwhile investment.
Cedar has a rich, warm color, a beautiful grain pattern, and a pleasant, natural aroma.
It is sourced from sustainably managed forests, making it an environmentally friendly option.
Cedar is naturally resistant to moisture, decay, and insect damage.
It is also less prone to warping, splitting, and cracking than pressure-treated lumber.
Skylight
The skylight upgrade includes five solid transparent polycarbonate panels that provide a clear, unobstructed view
and allow more natural light to pass through.
Being able to watch the clouds roll by or the stars at night is a great way to feel even closer to nature.
They can be placed in the top to create a skylight or positioned lower in the dome to serve as windows.
While they are slightly heavier, have a lower r-value and are not quite as strong as the standard 16 mm multi-wall
panels, solid polycarbonate is still far superior to other clear cladding options, such as glass, acrylic or PVC.
Airlock Entryway Vestibule
The airlock vestibule provides an extended entryway that helps maintain optimal interior greenhouse conditions.
This upgrade feature acts as a buffer zone, minimizing the exchange of outside air when entering or exiting the
Growing Dome.By reducing the infiltration of external elements, the airlock enhances temperature stability, improves humidity
control, and protects plants from pests and contaminants.Available in either pressure treated lumber or western red cedar, the dimensions are 5’ wide x 6’ long and
the door is 36” x 80”.
Additional Snowshed Entryway + Door
Enhance the accessibility and functionality of your Growing Dome with our additional door upgrade.
Adding a second snowshed entryway and door provides multiple entry and exit points, improving airflow and
circulation within the greenhouse. This feature allows for more convenient access for maintenance and harvesting, which is ideal for larger Growing
Domes or for those seeking increased flexibility in their greenhouse operations. The second door upgrade is particularly beneficial for schools and community groups, as it facilitates smoother
traffic flow and safer access for larger groups of students or members. In some cases, having multiple exits may
even be a safety requirement, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
