Five years ago, Arctic Acres set out to redefine the way we live and grow. Our vision took root while working with far-north communities, searching for innovative tools and techniques to reliably garden in one of the most difficult growing environments on earth: Zone 0 in the Canadian Arctic.
This is where our team of founders was first introduced to the Growing Dome, originally engineered by Growing Spaces in Colorado. The simply brilliant design of the Growing Dome allowed us to take on this endeavor, and after years of work, we applied our collective experience in horticulture, construction, and entrepreneurship to go from customers to manufacturers.
Our official public launch was scheduled for March 2020 during the National Homeshow at the Enercare Centre in Toronto. Just as we were ready to open our doors, the world began to shut down, and we were confronted with a whole new landscape of challenges that would put our “out-of-the-box” thinking to the test.
Today, we celebrate and commemorate a significant milestone – our 5-year anniversary. Our journey over these years has been nothing short of transformative, and we’re thrilled to say: we’re just getting started!
